Eating healthy food is a priority in my family. We love to prepare meals at home using fresh and local ingredients. There are many farmers markets in Knoxville where we can purchase delicious fruits and vegetables. Check out a few of our favorites below.
- Market Square Farmers Market
This market is located in downtown Knoxville in historic Market Square. This is a great place to do your weekly shopping and grab a meal. Many food trucks attend this market including one of our favorite’s, Cruze Farm. The market is open from May 4-November 19 on Wednesdays from 11-2 and Saturdays from 9-2. This is also a great place to do your holiday shopping. For the first three Saturdays in December from 11-6, the market is turned into a holiday market. Many craft vendors are in attendance selling their handmade gifts. - Lakeshore Farmers Market
This is a smaller market than the Market Square market but is still a great place to buy fresh produce. It is located in Lakeshore Park across from the Youth Sports Building and the Hank Rappe Playground. It is open on Fridays from April to November. From April to October the hours are 3-6pm and in November it is open 2-5 pm. - Ebenezer Road Market
Located in the parking lot of Ebenezer United Methodist Church, this is a great market to combine with a workout. The market is easily accessed from the Third Creek Greenway and the Sequoyah Greenway. Running, walking, and biking to the market makes for a great afternoon. The market is open from 3-6pm on Tuesdays from April to November. - UT Farmers Market
Since this market is located on the UT Gardens it is a very convenient location for UT students. Even if you are not a student, enjoy a nice walk around the gardens before purchasing fresh fruits and vegetables. The market is open from 4-7pm on Wednesdays from May11- October 19. - Winter Farmers Market
Colder weather does not mean you can’t buy fresh produce. From January-April, the Central United Methodist Church on 4th and Gill hosts the winter farmers market. This market is open on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of the month from 10-2. In addition to local and fresh ingredients, you can enjoy a meal from one of the many food trucks that visit this market.
